Press Release Summary = Two new club nights for gay men lauch in Bristol.
Press Release Body = This month sees the debut of a new gay club night for Bristol. In Yer face, which will take place monthly at Castro's in the city's Old Market Area, is offering something that no other club night does, namely a safe environment for men who want to cruise as well as those who just want to chill out with their friends over a pint.
With dark areas, non-stop movies and a bar open until the early hours as well as plenty of space to dance, In Yer Face should prove an important addition to the local gay scene, and an alternative to the rather staid offering otherwise available on a Sunday night. With a number of gay clubs, bars, pubs, bookshops and cafes already in the Old Market district, In Yer Face is a welcome addition to what is fast becoming Bristol's gay village.
Says promoter Mitch: "In Yer Face has been running for two years in London. It's a successful cruise club catering for those of us who want to enjoy a good night out. This is not a heavy sex club; it's a relaxing night where people can cruise a little, watch good DVD\'s, and meet friends for a good time. It's for guys who want to have a drink as well as those who want to listen or dance to great music - funky house and chart, nothing too heavy and definitely not heavy house - but not 60s & 70s music either.
"A good venue is hard to find in Bristol, and after a major decoration and refit I felt Castro's was the right place.
Mitch's other Bristol night, Come to Daddy, is moving to the Stag and Hounds after a successful stint at the Hatchet in Frogmore Street. He says: "We were there for the recent Bristol Bear Fiesta, and the landlord Tim and his staff welcomed us with open arms. We will be taking over the whole pub on the third Saturday of the month, and it's proving to be an excellent new home, with a chill-out room and a roof garden perfect for when the smoking ban comes in."
Unlike Come to Daddy, which is aimed at Bears, Cubs and their admirers, In Yer Face is, in Mitch's words: "Open to all types, from large to slim and young to old. Any shape and size is welcome. Bristol needs a good club night where people can just relax and where nothing is expected of them. It needs a night with a no-attitude approach, and I aim to achieve that."
Come to Daddy is held on the third Saturday of the month (commencing June 16) at the Stag and Hounds, Old Market Street, from 9pm. Entrance £5.
In Yer face will run every third Sunday of the Month at Castro's, Old Market Street, from 6pm, starting on June 17. Entrance is £5, half price for the opening night.
